Why Wi-Fi Drops Are So Common — and Fixable

Step-by-Step: Finding and Fixing the Drop

Isolate the Problem: One Device or All Devices?
Before touching your router, determine the scope of the issue. If only one device is dropping Wi-Fi, the problem is almost certainly with that device — check its network settings, forget and rejoin the network, or restart it. Switch Wi-Fi Bands Based on Room Distance
Most modern routers broadcast on two frequencies: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The 5 GHz band is faster but has a shorter range and struggles through walls. The 2.4 GHz band travels farther and penetrates obstacles better, making it more reliable for bedrooms and rooms far from the router. Check for Channel Congestion
If your neighbors' routers are broadcasting on the same Wi-Fi channel as yours, it creates interference that can cause drops.
